Perfume Review: Ariana Grande Mod Blush

 

This fragrance was launched in 2022. 

Below are the Top, Middle & Base notes for this fragrance:

Top: Raspberry, Pink Pepper & Bergamot

Middle: Rose, Pear & Magnolia

Base Notes: Musk, Ambroxan ( a pheromone note) & Sandalwood. 

This is a very fruity yet sweet scent that has undertones of musk. 

This is a great fragrance for the spring/summer and to me it's definitely much more of a daytime scent. 

The bottle is identical to the Mod Vanilla one however this version is a baby pink colour. 

Overall a lovely girly scent for the spring/summer.

Easy Easter Nail Art

Nail 1:

• I started by painting the nail with 2 coats of a matte pink polish.
• Once dry I took a grey polish and a striping brush and made the shape of a rabbit (I have quite shaky hands so mine is far from perfect but you get the general idea of what it's meant to be). 
• Using the light pink polish again I filled in the centre of the ears and gave him a nose.
• Using black polish, a dotting tool and a striping brush I gave him eyes, whiskers and a mouth. 
• The as it was looking a bit plain, I used a dotting tool and 2 different coloured polishes to make a boarder around the nail. 
• I finished by adding a little butterfly I found in my stash.

Nail 2:

• I painted the nail with 2 coats of a pink/mauve polish.
• Once dry I added a glossy top coat and a rose gold cross I found in my stash.

Nail 3: 

• I started by applying a couple coats of an iridescent white polish to the nail. 
• Then using a dotting tool and 2 different coloured polishes I made small dots around the nail in the shape of a flower. 
• I finished by adding a glossy top coat and little pearls to the centre of each flower. 

Nail 4: 

• I started by applying 2 coats of a turquoise blue polish.
• I found some nail stickers in my stash that I think are at least 10 years old. I applied them to the nail in the position I wanted them and then when over everything with a glossy top coat. 

Nail 5: 

• I applied 2 coats of a lilac coloured polish
• Once dry I applied a  top coat that has little black flakes of glitter in it. (this can also be archived by using on old stiff brush like a toothbrush and some black polish).

Review: Catrice Shine Bomb in Good Taste

If you like liquid lipsticks that are comfortable on the lips, then look no further. These are lip lacquers that feel like liquid lipstick but have the look of a gloss and feel very comfortable on the lips. They wear well throughout the day and don't leave your lips feeling dried out or cracked.

The shade I have is Good Taste which is a pink/mauve shade that would go with almost any look. 

These are €5.50 each and I would definitely consider buying another shade or two.

Review: PS... Double Act Mascara

I recently bought this mascara on my last trip into Penny's and have been using it almost every day since. 

This is a volumising mascara that does what it's meant to do. It gives my lashes lots of volume and the brush helps to separate the lashes so they don't clump together too much. 

This mascara is €4 and is meant to be a dupe for the Maybelline Sky High mascara and I can honestly say they are very similar. 

My favourite way to use this mascara is to apply this and then go over it with the Essence Princess Lash mascara. By doing this my lashes hold their curl and look full and separated all day.

Review: PS... Sweet Dual-Ended Liner and Lipstick

I picked these up recently while in Penny's. These are part of the Sweet Collection and actually look and feel very fancy, compared the some of the Penny's Beauty products. 

These are lipstick and liner duo's that compliment each other and are handy to throw in your bag. These come in two shades, Light Pink and Brown. The Light Pink shade is more of a pinkie nude where the shade called Brown is more of a dark mauve nude, it's not straight up brown.

The liners have a nice point to them and this seems to stay as you use the product. The lipsticks are slim and the angle of the bullet make it very easy to apply. 

My favourite way to wear these is to line the lips with the liner and fill them in with it then go all over the lips with the lipstick. I find it wears better and I get longer out of my lipstick throughout the day. 

These are only €4 each which isn't that bad considering you're getting 2 products.

Review: SOSU Radiant Magic Palette

This is such a nice face palette, you literally have everything you could need.

This comes with 2 Bronzers, 2 Blushes and 2 highlighters. 

• Cinnamon - Warm Contour
• Espresso - Dark Contour
• Sundown - Peach Blush
• Morning - Pink Blush
• Afterglow - Champagne Highlighter
• Radiance - Rose-Gold Highlighter

The bronzers are matte and and feel very buttery on the skin. I like to use Cinnamon as a bronzer and then go in very lightly with Espresso as a contour.

Both blush shades are beautiful however if you don't like shimmery blushes these may not be for you. The stars of the show to me, are definitely the highlighters! They are both very beautiful shades that feel silky smooth on the skin. Out of the two shades my favourite would have to be Radiance. 

This comes with a fairly large mirror, so it's nice to not have to pace a separate mirror. If your interested in getting this palette for yourself I would say keep an eye on the SOSU website sosucosmetics.com as it's currently on sale for €9.95 down from €19.95.

DIY: Homemade face mask for Clear Skin

What you need: 

• 2 tbsp honey
• 1 tbsp lemon juice

How to: 

• Mix the honey and lemon juice together well.
• Apply to the skin and leave on for 10 minutes
• rinse off with plenty of warm water
• follow with your favourite mosituriser

Quick & Easy nail art Ideas for St Patrick's day.

 

Nail 1

• I started by painting the nail with 2 coats of a dark green polish.
• Once 90% dry I used a green chrome powder and rubbed it into the nail. 
• I finished with a clear top coat

Nail 2

• I started by painting the nail with 2 coats of a dark green polish.
• Using gold rhinestones and gold microbeads I made a small halo across the top of the nail. 
• I finished with a clear top coat.

Nail 3

• I started by painting the nail with 2 coats of a white polish.
• using green polish I added a boarder around the nail. I then added some small gold dots to the boarder. 
• I finished with a clear top coat.

Nail 4

• I started by painting the nail with 2 coats of a dark green polish.
• I decided where I wanted the glitter to be placed and used clear top coat. while still wet I sprinkled on the gold glitter making sure i focused the heaviest coverage at the top of the nail and lighter as it went down. 
• I tapped off the excess glitter and waited for it to dry before adding a clear top coat.

Top 4 Favourite Green Nail Polishes

So for this months Top favourite nail polishes post I thought we might look at Green polishes given that it’s coming up to St. Patrick’s Day and all.

 

Essence Gel Nail Colour in Kale YEAH!

This is a beautiful forest green shade that looks very elegant on the nails (especially if the nails are that bit longer). This is a pigmented formula so 2 thin coats and your done. It’s also a quick dry formula and only costs around €2.25.

 

Catrice ICONail in Deeply in Green:

This is a beautiful shimmery emerald green shade that lasts a good week on the nails before chipping. I would suggest with darker shades like this that you use a base coat as it can stain your nails. This is a really nice polish and costs around €3.50.

 

Sally Hansen Color Therapy in Therapewter:

This is a really different shade that you don’t always find. It’s an olive green with some black/pewter undertones and an olive micro shimmer. This is quite a transparent polish but it can be used as either a top coat or built up in a couple of coats to give a really nice shade. This costs around €10.99. 

 

Collection Spotlight Shine in Envy:

This is a highly pigmented polish, so with 2 thin coats you are set. It’s a beautiful true jade shade that wears really well on the nails. This costs around €4.49.
